Yes! Even though we are based in Roswell, but we travel all over South-East New Mexico. If you are within 2 hours of driving distance, we'll come to you! Travel fees apply.
Yes. Any pianos that show drastic aging signs like rusted strings, cracked hardware, or tuning pins that won't hold a tune will generally be rejected. This is determined with an on-site evaluation or if you can send an email and detailed photos of your piano.
We try to avoid this happening as much as possible, but this can happen for a few reasons:
1. We performed a pitch raise, and the piano is trying to go back to where it was before. This is common, especially for very out of tune pianos to want to go back to where it was prior to the tune. It could take months for the piano to finally settle where it needs to be, along with several more tunings in-between. A pitch raise brings a lot of stress on a piano, but it will take some time and work!
2. Some of the pins just didn't hold. This is common in older pianos. This is sometimes fixable, but we may not know that it's not holding until after the piano is played for a while. Take note which key sounds wrong, and we'll come back to take a look!
3. The weather has changed. Drastic humidity and temperature changes take the biggest toll on pianos. In seasonal transitions, pianos take a big hit. This is why tuning once a year is the minimum, but twice is recommended!
This one is tricky. Some pianos may look good on the surface, but could have tons of underlying problems. If you really want a free piano, contact us to inspect the piano first and we can give you our recommendation.
